Ph.D. candidate, University of Michigan

I am mainly interested in syntax, semantics and psycholinguistics, especially experimental approaches to syntax, language acquisition and sentence processing.  The overall goal is to construct an integrated theory of the nature, acquisition and use of language knowledge, by combining insights and methods from these fields.

Specifically, I am working on the syntax and semantics of quantification in Mandarin Chinese and child language acquisition of quantification, Binding Theory in relational nouns in Mandarin Chinese, Full Phase Transfer theory under the Minimalist Program. My dissertation is on the cue-based memory retrieval theory and its computational modeling in the syntactic processing of grammatical illusions, exploring the interaction between memory and online sentence processing.

My dissertation committee members are Prof. Samuel Epstein, Prof. Richard Lewis, Prof. Acrisio Pires and Dr. Jonathan Brennan.

Interested Fields: Syntax, Semantics, Language acquisition, Sentence processing
